Calculation is based on;
1 Calculation of the power in kw unit
2 Calculation of KVA
3 Increase the value by 0,8 to compensate more power in case of overuse or frequent start stops
4 Select KVA rating of the transformer sligtly more than the value you found for the KVA so that your transformer can withstand. Generally transformers are sold in standard 3, 6, 9, 15, 30, 45, 75, 150, 225, 300, 500, 750, and 1000 kVA. You can refer to manufacturer’s sheet for more info.
